The meeting will be hosted by the Fontana Corrosion Center (FCC), which resides in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University (OSU). The FCC has had an international reputation for excellence in the field of corrosion since the days of Mars Fontana. OSU is a public research university in Columbus, Ohio that was founded in 1870 as a land-grant university and is currently the largest single-campus university in the US. Columbus is the state capital, located on the banks of the Scioto River with plentiful dining, entertainment, and shopping possibilities. An afternoon excursion is planned for the National Museum of the United States Air Force located at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base. More than 400 aircraft and missiles, including Wright Brothers artifacts, a B-52D, and many experimental aircraft, are on display at this fascinating museum.
